Embrace of Makena

May 17, 2024

On Big Beach, Makena, where the sand is gold,
I meet the spirits of my grandmothers, old.
In the hush of the waves, their whispers unfold,
A connection to my soul, a story retold.

This sacred shore, where I feel truly home,
Invites me to dream, forever to roam.
Yet I know in my heart, this place, though I yearn,
Is a haven I visit, not a place I can return.

I’ve brought others here, to share in my grace,
Not all felt its power, not all knew its face.
But the beauty of Makena teaches me to forgive,
In its embrace, I learn to truly live.

When I stand by the ocean, nothing else matters,
The world’s weight lifts, and my sorrow scatters.
On this beach, I find peace, my spirit to mend,
In Makena’s gentle arms, my soul will transcend.
