Crossing Paths

May 29, 2024

I met her in a fleeting moment,
A brief encounter, yet so profound,
In her eyes, a mirror reflecting,
My younger self, lost and found.

Our paths converged, not by mere chance,
A rendezvous with destiny’s dance,
She was me, in another time,
A ghost of past, a silent chime.

Sharp as a blade, her mind, her sight,
Seeing the world, both dark and light,
Yet beneath the brilliance, shadows lay,
Echoes of a childhood’s fray.

She came to me, a chance to see,
The scars of my own history,
Through her pain, I faced my fears,
A shared catharsis, cleansing tears.

But in the end, she left this place,
A fleeting soul, a vanished trace,
Not just a friend, but more to me,
A daughter’s loss, a painful plea.

In her, a bond was born,
A soul who came and then was torn,
Through shared paths and broken dreams,
Her memory in my heart still gleams.
