In Gaza’s shadows, innocence does weep,
Where children dream, yet nightmares steal their sleep.
Through screens we see, the world’s concealed despair,
The silent screams, the fractured lives laid bare.
The mothers hold their lifeblood in their arms,
Their hearts a shield against the world’s alarms.
Each day they fight, a struggle to endure,
Their spirits bound, yet painfully unsure.
The viral truths that flash across our eyes,
Expose the wounds beneath the world’s disguise.
While some debate their mundane, fleeting cares,
The echoes rise of lives ensnared by snares.
How can I think of meals or plans to make,
When souls are torn, and lives are set to break?
To live in peace while others fight for breath,
Is to confront the truth of life and death.
We cling to things that turn to dust in time,
As if they hold a worth profound, sublime.
Yet, deep within, we know these truths are vain,
While others bear the brunt of endless pain.
Oh, humanity, what have we become?
In shadows cast, we see what we’ve undone.
Complicit in the silence of our shame,
We face our demons, whispering their name.
The world we build with greed and blind neglect,
Cannot withstand the weight of its defect.
For in the end, it’s not the gold we keep,
But how we stand when others mourn and weep.
Let Gaza’s cries awaken hearts of stone,
To see, to feel, to claim the hurt as known.
For in this fight, our souls are intertwined,
And through their struggle, hope for all mankind.
