Deciding to be kind is a super power

January 4, 2025

It’s easy to get self absorbed especially when we are in a time of where more people are frequently using the word “self” in their daily verbiage.

If you pause, and imagine life as the person next to you, neighbor, colleague, or anyone else who has less of an emotional attachment to you, but yet part of your daily interactions, for a brief moment, just imagine what it feels like…that connection should inspire us to be kind.

I get these are times that warrant so much anger in us, but this too, shall pass, the emotions I mean and at some point we have to accept our contribution to the overall struggle of humanity, today.

I really think the work lies in each and every one of us to stay or become present to solve the overall humanitarian crisis we are facing today. Everything is connected and every action has a reaction. We should dig deep within us and ask ourselves if we have been truly honest with ourselves, even kind to ourselves because genuine humanity, requires a connection with ourselves first before we can offer it to anyone else in a meaningful way.

This post may not make a whole lot of sense to you so forgive me if it doesn’t. I spoke and thought out aloud and it’s a little raw, from the emotions of sadness for the world in which we live in today.

Be kind.
