Burning Bridges and Finding Calm

January 13, 2025

Some bridges are beautiful when they burn. They symbolize the versions of ourselves that no longer exist. When we grow, we leave behind old layers of who we were. For some people, those versions of us still live in their minds, and they cling to what once was. But as we change, those bridges are meant to burn.

You can’t unsee what you’ve seen. You can’t unlearn what you’ve learned. And you can’t return to who you once were. There is calmness in the realization that there’s no going back—only forward.

In Buddhism, this impermanence is the essence of life. Every connection is temporary, every moment fleeting. When we embrace this truth, we stop holding on to “forever” and start appreciating the beauty of the now.

So let the bridges burn. There’s peace in knowing they’re not needed anymore.
