Do We Miss Green Flags While Chasing Red?

January 23, 2025

In a world hyper-focused on identifying red flags, it’s easy to overlook the quiet beauty of green ones. We’ve conditioned ourselves to search for danger, scanning interactions for signs of manipulation, dishonesty, or harm. But in doing so, we often fail to see the people who show up for us in meaningful, genuine ways. The ones who tell tough truths with kindness, who listen to understand rather than waiting for their turn to speak, and who make us feel safe without asking for anything in return. Maybe the problem isn’t just the abundance of red flags but our inability to pause and recognize the green.

What if our fear of being hurt is stopping us from appreciating the good that’s quietly asking to be seen?
