Let Them Go

March 31, 2025

They walked in, full-grown and kind,

With eyes that didn’t search for signs—

Of trickery, deceit, or harm,

They trusted you. That was their charm.

They found a home inside your voice,

A quiet place, a hopeful choice.

But if your heart was masked and cold,

Don’t play with theirs. Just let them go.

Don’t take their light to feed your need,

Don’t twist their love to fuel your greed.

There’s less of them with every fall,

So if you can’t love them—

Don’t touch them at all.
