Misunderstood, Yet Becoming

August 21, 2025

We live in a world that craves neat definitions — empath, intellect, giver, taker, strong, fragile. But what if you are all of them at once? What if your contradictions are not flaws to fix but truths to hold?

Being human often means living in paradox. You can be surrounded by people and still feel profoundly alone. You can laugh when you are nervous, cry when you’re brave, and give until you’re empty while secretly aching to be filled. These complexities don’t make you inconsistent; they make you real.

To be misunderstood by others is difficult. To be misunderstood by yourself can feel unbearable. And yet, there’s freedom in admitting that we’re still learning how to understand who we are. Maybe the goal isn’t to explain ourselves perfectly to the world but just maybe it’s to stand in the tension of our contradictions and choose compassion for ourselves anyway.

After all, wholeness doesn’t mean being without fractures. It means learning how to live fully, even with them.
