Wake Up At The T-Junction

October 24, 2025

If “normal” is whatever the crowd agrees to today, then “normal” is a moving target that shrinks your mind to fit a box you didn’t build. From far away, the march looks orderly, everyone drifting in a direction that seems sensible enough. Zoom in, though, and it fractures: every person carrying a private map of fears, wounds, and half-conscious habits they mistake for choices.

That’s the scary part of looking closely, really closely. You start to see how much of “the benchmark” is just inertia wearing a suit, how often we outsource our compass to whatever society claps for this quarter. It’s easier to let the current drag you; it feels safer to be swept than to stand.

But awareness is a one-way door. Once you wake up, you hit a T-junction: follow the crowd, or follow your truth. Neither path is painless. One costs belonging. The other costs yourself. Only one of those prices you can’t afford.

So pause. Breathe. Ask: Who decided this was the benchmark and do they deserve that power over me? If the answer is “no,” step off the conveyor belt. Real direction doesn’t come from consensus; it comes from conscience.

Stay with the discomfort long enough to hear your own signal under society’s static. Then move not fast, not performative just honest.

A single honest step beats a thousand steps in the wrong parade.
