Authenticity: The Original Design

January 17, 2025

Proof: Unique designs, like Apple’s, are crafted with intention—not just to function, but to resonate with users through aesthetics, simplicity, and a sense of identity. They stand apart, setting a standard that others often replicate. The imitators, while cheaper and more accessible, lack the original essence. They may offer similar features, but their appeal rarely endures.

The same applies to human beings. Authentic individuals, like original designs, create a lasting impression because they embrace their true nature. Copycats, on the other hand, may mimic traits or behaviors, but their lack of authenticity leaves them interchangeable and unremarkable. They, too, are easier to replace—spare parts in an aftermarket of human interactions.

In the digital age, this concept expands to the role of UX/UI designers, whose emotional intuition has become critical. Their ability to craft intuitive, user-focused experiences directly impacts conversion rates and user retention. Today, more than ever, companies must prioritize the end user—the ultimate customer—over competitors. Distribution partners may serve as avenues, but the true focus should always be on delivering an experience that resonates with the people who pay for and engage with the product.

Look ahead, not to the sides. Your success lies in being better than yesterday, serving the road ahead: the end user.

Authenticity is irreplaceable, and in a world of replicas, it remains the premium design of the soul.
