In shadows cast by words unmeant,
I see the scars I left behind,
A past where kindness sometimes bent,
Unconscious echoes, unrefined.
I offer now this heartfelt plea,
For moments I have missed the mark,
To those who bore the weight of me,
In times when light turned into dark.
Forgive the steps I took askew,
Where paths diverged, or bridges burned,
Some journeys end, as all things do,
Yet still, for peace, my heart has yearned.
Though ties may fray or never mend,
And some I choose to leave at rest,
I wish you well, dear distant friend,
With hope and healing, I invest.
For in this space, I’ve come to see,
The truth of what accountability means,
And so, with grace, I set you free,
My soul awakens, clears the scenes.
