Brave Meeting

October 1, 2024

To meet yourself—truly, deeply—
Is a courage many never know,
To peel the layers slowly, carefully,
To face the parts that refused to show.

The war within, you’ve waged so long,
Against the scars that still remain,
The old wounds you thought were buried,
Surface now in full refrain.

It takes strength to not retreat,
To gaze upon your own reflection,
To see the jagged edges,
Yet accept them without correction.

You have hidden in shadows,
Afraid of what they might see,
But in this brave encounter,
You hold the key to setting free.

Free the heart, once wrapped in armor,
Held tight by chains of shame,
Now those same chains are broken,
As you whisper your own name.

Be gentle as you meet this soul,
Who’s fought so hard to hide,
For bravery isn’t in perfection,
But in showing your true side.

Step out now, with all your wounds,
Into the world, raw and wide,
For it’s your scars that show your power,
And the strength you have inside.

So, stand tall and let them see,
The warrior you’ve become,
For bravery is not in hiding,
But in facing what you’ve done.

This is you, whole and tender,
No more battle left to fight,
You are brave because you see,
And bring your truth to light.
