Coping or Living?

January 18, 2025

Do you ever stop and ask yourself if you’re truly living—or just surviving? Many of us fall into routines that mimic living, yet we accept disrespect, minimize our needs, and tell ourselves it’s understanding or compromise. But is it?

Healing, for me, is a process of becoming aware. Shadow work has taught me to observe my responses to familiar patterns, to ask, “Why do I keep tolerating this?” And in observing, I’ve found the power to choose a different response. It’s not easy. It requires stepping into the discomfort of knowing that surviving isn’t the same as living.

Transformation begins when you surrender—when you say, “I don’t want to live like this anymore.” So ask yourself: Are you truly living the life you choose, or are you just surviving? Maybe it’s time to pause, observe, and begin again.
