Echoes of My Heart

May 22, 2024

Of all the things to remember,
When I’ve left this earthly sphere,
Hold tight to these simple truths,
Let them echo in your ear.

Recall the love I freely gave,
Though sometimes it seemed so foolish,
Know it was always earnest,
A heart’s true, fervent wish.

Remember how I cared for you,
Even when it seemed unwanted,
A heart’s devotion, steadfast and true,
Though at times, perhaps, undaunted.

Including the times mistakes were made,
Yet nothing so beautiful as to create
A new version of me,
Better than any other state.

Know that I believed in people,
And trusted in their words,
Longing for a soul connection,
A depth that often stirs.

When my body turns to dust,
And from this world I depart,
Forget not the love I shared,
Remember, always, my heart.
