Headproof Courage

October 4, 2025

The head is a master at building cages that look like castles: plans, projections, polite excuses wrapped in spreadsheets. It calls fear “prudence,” sameness “stability,” and delay “due diligence,” while the pulse inside keeps knocking like a tenant with a key. If life feels efficient but airless, that’s the tax of worshiping certainty.

The heart won’t show receipts in advance; it trades guarantees for guidance, demanding the scandalous act of trusting what can’t be proved yet. Tradition says don’t rock the boat, but coastlines are carved by waves, not apologies. Alignment is costly in comfort, in consensus, but the bill for avoidance is a lifetime of almost.

So start small and irreversible: speak the truth already known, choose one inch of courage over one mile of control, and let meaning outrank approval. Make the leap “irresponsible” only to the part that prefers reputation over reality. The mind can audit later; for now, move the compass has been pointing home the whole time.
