Identity: The Illusion We Agreed To

September 29, 2025

Think about this, borders didn’t exist until someone drew a line and told us it mattered. Race wasn’t a weapon until politics sharpened it. Rules, policies, restrictions, these weren’t written by the universe. They were designed, taught, imposed. And we swallowed them as if they were truth, as if identity could be manufactured outside of us.

Who would you be without the maps, the categories, the labels? Without the silent obedience to systems that benefit from your division? Strip it all away, and it’s just humanity. One breathing being recognizing another. A current of connection that doesn’t need permission, or passports, or approval.
We let the scaffolding of fear wrap around us until it became the architecture of our lives, shaping who we love, where we live, how we see ourselves. But that scaffolding is cracking. The world is breaking in all the places it must, because structures built on control and separation cannot hold forever. They were never natural.

At the core, truth is not inherited from policies. It is not handed down through identity politics. Truth is already you. Already us. We just forgot. And maybe the breaking is the reminder, that we were never meant to live divided.
The question isn’t when will it fall? The question is whether we’ll have the courage to meet ourselves, finally, without the lies.
