Sometimes I wonder whether our greatest heartbreak isn’t losing someone.
It’s realizing that what we thought was love may have been the only version of love we knew how to recognize.
Or whether I simply experienced the version of love my childhood taught me to recognize.
Carl Jung wrote that until we make the unconscious conscious, it will direct our lives and we will call it fate.
Perhaps that’s why some relationships enter our lives.
Not because they are meant to last, but because they are meant to reveal.
Some relationships don’t teach us how to love another person. They teach us where we abandoned ourselves. They expose the unconscious patterns we’ve mistaken for love, and if we’re willing to look inward, they become catalysts for consciousness.
Consciousness isn’t just seeing the pattern. It’s choosing not to repeat it.
Insight without action is just another thought.
Maybe that’s where love truly begins.
