Power Leak

March 31, 2025

We give away our power more often than we realize.

It happens quietly—when we care too much about the opinions of people who’ve never walked in our shoes. When we value the voice of someone who has neither our experience nor our insight, just because they seem confident, accomplished, or admired.

But here’s the truth: that habit often points to a deeper wound—a need to be validated or seen.

The only way out is through awareness.

Before healing, I followed people who looked like they had it all figured out. I mirrored their confidence, adopted their language, chased their version of success. Post-healing? A 180-degree shift. I woke up to how many decisions I’d made on autopilot.

It’s powerful—and terrifying—to realize how much influence we have over our own lives.

That power? It’s ours. But we have to be willing to receive information that bruises the ego. We have to admit we’re flawed. Then, and only then, can we begin writing the manual for how we want to live.

Otherwise, we’re just following followers.

And if we stay asleep, we risk making unconscious choices—including the ones that shape our world.

Wake up. Reclaim your power.
