She Chose Herself

Cassie Ventura inspires me in a way I couldn’t have grasped in an earlier version of myself. Back then, I would have read the news and felt heartbreak, deep compassion for what she endured. And while that hasn’t changed, something else has grown stronger—respect.

Because today, I see the courage it takes not just to survive, but to reclaim your agency.

It wasn’t a savior that lifted her out. It was her. Even her husband said it best—crediting him is an insult to her strength. She chose herself. She fought for her freedom. She endured what we can only imagine and still found a way back to herself.

Cassie is an alchemist. She turned pain into power. And that, to me, is the most sacred kind of inspiration
