The Effort of Empathy

A wise human once told me that trying is a sign someone cares enough to do better. Hurt can be unintentional or intentional, and understanding that difference is crucial. Unintentional hurt often triggers wounds in others, but recognizing that there was no intent to harm can change the way we perceive it. Trying, in this context, becomes an act of empathy—an acknowledgment that even though we’ve hurt someone, we care enough to avoid doing so again. That insight stays with me, reminding me to appreciate the effort behind the intent.
