The Freedom of Being Misunderstood

January 21, 2025

For years, I exhausted myself trying to be understood. Over-explaining, dissecting my words, and addressing every possible misinterpretation became second nature. I believed understanding was a necessity, a bridge I had to build no matter how many bricks it took.

Healing taught me otherwise. It revealed that my worth doesn’t depend on someone else’s ability to grasp my truth. People hold their narratives tightly, and often, their inability to see you stems from their own wounds, not your inadequacy.

It’s freeing to recognize that clarity isn’t always yours to give. If someone truly wants to understand, they will seek it. If they don’t, let their perception be. Your energy isn’t meant to fight against the currents of someone else’s resistance.

This realization isn’t just a release—it’s a gift. It naturally filters those who aren’t aligned with your authenticity, leaving space for those who are. And that is where peace lives.

Let them misunderstand. You’ll be okay.
