The Importance of Shadow Work

January 5, 2025

Shadow work is a journey into the parts of ourselves we often avoid—our triggers, our fears, and our wounds. Demons don’t leave us; they linger, waiting to be triggered. But healing doesn’t mean erasing them. Instead, it’s about cultivating a level of self-awareness where you can recognize the trigger and consciously choose a different response.

For me, shadow work feels like stepping outside of myself, as though I’m watching my life on a screen. With this perspective, I can see myself step back in response to a trigger. And now, with self-awareness as my remote control, I can redirect my reaction.

This work isn’t easy—it’s a commitment. It requires understanding human psychology, our individual wounds, and the unique ways we’re triggered. But the gift of shadow work is immense. It helps us navigate the world with intuition, self-awareness, and compassion, both for ourselves and for others.

Healing is no joke, but it’s worth every step. I’m grateful for the journey.
