Through Layers

May 19, 2024

In the quiet of your guarded heart,
Where shadows dance and secrets start,
I see the layers you’ve carefully spun,
A fortress built, a battle won.

Beneath the armor, beneath the fear,
Lies a soul, so pure, so clear.
Your heart’s whispers, soft and true,
Speak of dreams and skies so blue.

Each layer shed, a story told,
Of battles fought and moments bold.
The world may only see the shield,
But I see the wounds, the scars unhealed.

I see the fear, the need to hide,
The silent tears you’ve kept inside.
Yet through it all, I find the light,
A soul that yearns for the night.

To be seen, to be known,
Beyond the walls of stone.
In your depths, I find my place,
A tender, quiet, sacred space.

So here I stand, with open eyes,
No judgment, no disguise.
I see you, love, through every veil,
In every fear, in every tale.

For in the heart, where true love lies,
No mask can shield the soul’s cries.
Together we’ll face each tender scar,
I see you, love, just as you are.
