We’re Hurting Each Other Because We Don’t Know Ourselves

July 4, 2025

There’s something terrifying about the human experience that no one teaches you early enough: we are all walking around with unexamined wounds, unconscious patterns, and an ego that fights like hell to stay in control.

Some people are on the path—seeking, healing, waking up. But many are just… living. Achieving. Accumulating. Repeating. Not because they’re bad people. Because they’ve never been shown another way. Because self-awareness isn’t rewarded in the systems we live in—performance is. Control is. Survival is.

Now imagine building your entire life—your love, your career, your decisions—around people who haven’t done their own work. People who don’t know why they react the way they do. People who carry pain that you end up paying for, with your peace, your body, your sanity.

It’s dangerous.

Because when we don’t take care of ourselves, when we don’t pause and look at our shit, someone else ends up carrying it. That’s how trauma spreads—quietly, invisibly, generationally. And this cycle doesn’t just play out in personal relationships. It plays out in politics, in leadership, in countries making reckless decisions because the people in charge are just boys in suits trying to prove something their father never gave them.

Self-awareness is survival and it’s the only real revolution.

You want to change the world? Start with you. Start by asking what parts of you are driving the car when you’re not watching. Start by admitting you’re not okay, and then doing something about it. Not for Instagram. Not for anyone else. Just so you stop bleeding on people who didn’t cut you.

Because when you wake up—really wake up—it’s like starting life all over again. Scary, yes. But it’s the good kind of scary. It’s real.

And from there, you get to write your story—not just survive someone else’s script.
