We’re Still Human, Even After Awakening

June 3, 2025

I came across this quote (screenshot below) and it really hit home.

There’s this subtle pressure that once we’ve had a spiritual awakening, we need to act like we’ve transcended all human emotion—like we’ve become this perfectly calm, always-kind, never-reactive version of ourselves. But the truth is, we’re still human. The awakening doesn’t erase our emotions; it helps us understand them.

Real integration—the part where what we’ve learned begins to shape how we live—probably begins when we stop judging ourselves for feeling. When we allow ourselves to experience the full range of emotions, not just the “high vibrational” ones. Sadness, anger, joy, confusion—each has something to teach us.

I think awareness is the bridge. The more we accept what we feel, without resisting or over-identifying, the more aligned we become. That’s not perfection. That’s integration.

And maybe next time we see someone “spiritual” or “religious” having a very human moment, we don’t label it as hypocrisy—but as part of the journey. We’re all walking through our seasons.

Just a perspective. Not a guru. But I think it’s worth thinking about.
