The Strength in Being True

May 17, 2024

In a world where many people mask their true selves, staying true to your moral values and who you are at your core is vital. Authenticity always wins, even if your circle is small.

There are countless insecure individuals who might cling to you simply because they feel alone in a crowd and recognize your kindness and approachability. Others might pretend to like you, smiling and acting as if everything is fine, even when you know they don’t genuinely appreciate you. This is a personal pet peeve of mine, as those who are self-aware, conscious, and sensitive can easily pick up on this insincerity.

We choose to be kind because we understand that responding with inauthentic behavior or comments won’t bring true satisfaction. However, walking this path can be challenging. Being nice is often mistaken for weakness, ignorance, or naivety. In reality, we see right through the facade.

Staying true to yourself and your values is essential. Authenticity might limit your circle, but it ensures that those who are close to you are there for the right reasons. Being genuine and kind, even in the face of pretense, is a strength that builds true connections and lasting relationships.
