The Israel-Palestinian Conflict: A Deep Reflection on Freedom

May 18, 2024

The Israel-Palestinian conflict is a complex and deeply rooted issue that has been the source of significant pain and suffering for decades. At its heart, the struggle is about more than territorial disputes or political power; it’s about the fundamental human right to freedom.

Freedom, in its truest form, transcends the opinions of friends, society, and the world. It is about how you perceive yourself and your own intrinsic worth. For Palestinians, this freedom is a distant dream. The ongoing conflict has stripped them of the basic liberties that many take for granted.

The essence of who you are is determined by your inner thoughts and feelings, the truth that lies within your core. This blog post is about acknowledging that truth. It is about recognizing that true freedom is not about how the world sees you, but how you see yourself and the life you are able to live.

It really is about humans who have been fed a narrative and not questioning it, believing it to be true because the people they love believe it. Our individuality and our ability and freedom to think for ourselves are key. Personally, I have been to Israel and Palestine, and there are good people on the Israeli side who support Palestinian freedom. I’m not against Israel; I’m against the people who know that they are wrong and continue the abuse against the Palestinians.

At my core, I support the freedom of all humans.

At the end of the day, the intimacy you have with yourself and your own truth is what defines your sense of freedom. For Palestinians, achieving this intimate freedom remains a critical and urgent necessity.
